to CCF Some of those have good eye appeal. Quote:
Any help determining what causes this coloration Why these have the color/tone is most likely caused by where they were stored. It could be a chemical reaction to what was near them for a long period of time. Even if they were in contact to a type paper that has a high sulfur content. In some cases high heat can cause this coloring. What are they worth .. hard to say. 1963 Lincoln cents are very common. Some collectors might really like the color, and some will not. In my opinion, there might be a couple of these you could find a buyer at a dollar or two. most of them would sell closer to face value. There might be some toned Lincoln Cent experts on here, if so, we can see what they think.

When I saw your first set of photos the first thing that came to my mind was ; environmental damage . however your 2nd set showed more like decent natural toning . So I'm a bit confused . What do they look like in hand ? Could be how and where they were stored ,humidity, dampness . I don't believe their worth much more than face . Unless you find a collector who likes that kind of funky toning .

MrOrlando! Something having to due with where they were stored. Interesting toning. There were just over 754 million of these P minted cents in 1963 1964 was close to 2.5 million.

Chemical exposure, most appear to be market unacceptable but a couple look like they are OK.

The 1st group looks like the cents we'd find when working in a laundrymat, many moons ago. The 63s have some screamin' color. I likes.

Thank you all for your input. Just to clarify, all of these photos are of the same set of Pennies under different lighting. They are in excellent condition. They have great shine, contain zero scratches/physical surface contaminants, and have a sharp clean edge. I found these mixed in a sealed tamper-evidence bag of older Uncirculated Pennies from a local coin shop.
I plan to post a few more clear photos later today or tomorrow.

Thank you all for the warm welcome. I also thank those who take the time to watch the short clip I have posted, for those who are interested in taking a closer look.

Those cents are fabulous! I am way into toned coins, especially copper ones. If you would like to sell some of them I would be very interested in purchasing them from you.
