I heard the rule for easy identification of the 1966 Sm vs. Large beads besideS the I LINING UP WITH THE BEAD was if the bead between D.G was bigger or smaller than the beads around the obv. Could this be used as well as a quick marker ?

TeaKenDo-
I don't believe in this case that is true.
The Small Bead has a smaller dot between the D & G
than the larger bead so the proportion is about the same.
The easiest way is to look at the back of the hair.
Little detail- Large Bead
Lots of detail- Small Bead

Nice pictures rocky.
You can now easily see the difference between a Large and Small Bead.
And yes, 1983-1989 are all Low Relief, Small Bead

Telling the difference is the same as the rcmp 1973 Mountie quarter mule. It's all in the bust's detail.

I think the only mule for that 1982 50 cent issue is on the business strikes, unless someone knows different?

i would say you are right Alan. I have a chance right know . to purchase a nice collection. when I went through the uncirculated sets of this collection. I found a 1973 large bust quarter in a completely sealed set. this quarter is in pristine condition.i also found one in a little tin box. there was about 20 rcmp quarters in that box. this quarter is pristine as well. the owner said I want this collection gone. make me a reasonable offer. what would you pay for those 2 quarters.
