It's a 'Key' date coin in the five cent series but, I think it was heavily cleaned and also looked scrubbed and sold for way too much in that condition.IMO

Someone paid almost full VG8 trend price. But ugh, those scratches, and looks like George blew his nose into his moustache.

The buyer had 39 feedback. I am going to guess a new collector or maybe a non-collector buying someone a Christmas present.

First of all it is a Five Cent not a Cent change the title . Second probably a bad picture more than anything else. It is actually a very typical average circulated George 5 cent . This is very common for what is normally encountered. Scratches nicks and meter marks are very common on these "Work Horse " Nickel five cents.
If any one knows where I can buy a roll of 1925 Nickels at less than $45 US a coin let me know .

I am inclined to agree with @Pacificoin. The picture is far from flattering.

That being said, I would not necessarily want to get it unless I had it in hand.

No returns are meaningless on ebay. Buyer can get their money back through ebay

It's always concerning when you see a $35 coin selling for over double ebay's average.

I'm just not getting this thread in general. It's a 1925 5 cents even at 73.99 it's not that far out of price range(if at all), even horrible ones easily bring in $50+. If you look at the bidding there are 3 legitimate bidders who would pay $65 or more for this coin.

You are looking at the wrong coin coinhunter. It's a 1925 5 cent piece not 1 cent.
