Admiral Gardner shipwreck coins.
I have seen several and they didn't look right.
Is this a popular coin to counterfeit, or am I mistaken?

These are extremely common and often sell in the $5-$10 range in reconditioned AU like the coin you show.

If you study the 300 recently closed on ebay you will get a good idea about varieties available.

It's not impossible, but I think the chances of someone taking the time to counterfeit these is pretty low. Yours does not have any tell tale signs of forgery.

The weight was slightly off and the thickness 1.2mm. I think it should be 2mm thick.
