Being in Canada I don't get a lot of experience with Morgans. I'm hoping someone would confirm authenticity of this 1893 I'm considering for my date set

It looks OK to me. It is worn and maybe VF condition. How much did you pay for it? If you paid considerably less than $200 for it you got a deal. I see a lot of Morgans that really take off in price between VF and MS60. I look for the break point for these Morgans and get the coin before the price rockets to the moon like 1884-S, 86-O, 92-S, and even 95-0. All these coins are reasonable in AU but cost many thousands in MS60. Some of these Morgans are reasonable at EF and unreasonable at AU and beyond. If the coin has eye appeal that matters a lot to me since I am not flipping them. If you have a set of Morgans with mostly AU to MS coins the VF ones really stick out as being worn and beat up even if they are not that bad by themselves.

It looks genuine to me. However, I will defer to those that know the VAMs of the key dates by heart.
Rest in Peace
