Hi, got some bulk silver coins. Mostly Kennedy half dollars and dimes. Whats the best place to unload them? I'm guessing they dont have much numismatic value and just dropping by the local coin shop would be a ripoff.

I'm around the SoCal LA area if that helps.

Try Craigslist. Do not accept checks or anything else, but cash. No selling fees or other bs whatsoever.
Rest in Peace

Also be sure to meet your buyer in a safe place, like inside a bank. Let the bank know what you are doing.

Right here is a great place to sell, too.

There are many silver stackers on these forums.

Offering them here for melt value plus postage costs would probably get them sold pretty quickly.

Jarwulf, if you sell them using craigslist, might I suggest your local Law Enforcement Agency... Most will probably let you conduct the selling in there for security reasons... Might ask first before trying though...

It's to bad so many are forced to go to LCS where they often buy under melt and sell over melt. A friend had purchased 500 oz at the low, but he wanted his money back when price was still fairly low, I bought 100 oz. from him at 15.50. Ideally I should have bought the whole 500, flipped 400. when we went back up to 20 and got my 100 for free.

I get silver from friends & family now, so that's another avenue to try.

I would also try to wait until prices are a bit more favorable.

Based on my experience, the LCS follows those practices in order to turn a profit. Buy under, sell over.
I'd hate to see my LCS go out of business.
