Just fishing for some opinions. I'd like to snag a roll of ASEs, which would be my first large silver purchase (I also have a few generic rounds). Do you all think I should pull the trigger on them now (With spot being around $15.90) or do you think silver is still on its way down?

Impossible to judge where silver will go, but I would say from my own buying during this Christmas lull, GRAB SOME!

@logantrky,

IF you're very ITCHY to buy that roll of ASE, then STOP!

Most often than not, silver price continued to drop after you placed the order; BEEN there, DONE that.

many times.

A good time to buy, actually is when you don't feel like buying anything; and just by curiosity step into a local coin shop, to find out you're the only customer. Then you start a hard bargain, pick up something at spot.

Congratulations!

You should buy a roll of ASE's because I did and I need more people to buy to validate my purchase. Seriously, I think now is a very good time to buy because with a little digging and patience you can find sellers who have cut their profit margin such that you would need a dollar drop (or more) in the price of silver before they were selling the rolls at the price you can get now. I like APMEX, but if someone undercuts them substantially I will defect. What I do is go to ebay and search "silver eagle roll 20" because sometimes APMEX will have specials they only offer on ebay. Another nice thing is that you can pay with PayPal on ebay and you still get it for the check/wire price with free shipping. I recently did this and I think I paid $380 a roll which was about $30 less than their website price.

I purchased a roll yesterday for $368. APMEX had a special through ebay. This is the cheapest I have seen them in a while.

If you have the money and want them then go for it. You will drive yourself crazy trying to figure out the exact right time to buy. You will see one person post don't buy and the very next person will say silver is at the bottom and is going nowhere but up. Just do it!

The silver price is NOT going down; the value of the U.S. dollar relative to almost all other currencies is is going UP.

Trump has stated that he wishes to bring manufacturing back to America. The stock market and the dollar have responded positively.

For America's sake, lets hope that actually happens and the silver price in U.S. dollars stays down. That makes it easier for silver stackers.

If you need silver buy it. If you don't need silver don't buy it.

A free piece of advice is don't buy physical silver as an investment tool or as an income generator.

Retailers aren't going to take much more of a hit. $16 is cheap.

Well, all right. I wasn't going to, but for you....

Personally, I prefer old silver.

Aaaaaaaaaahhhhh. Thanks Buddy. (I like old silver too...Morgans. But I have a feeling that when the day comes to sell them the seller is going to put them on a scale and use that to determine their worth.
