Iphone photos, not so great but the best I can do :)

Weighs 2.57 grams. Material uncertain, but lightweight, non-magnetic and no response to magnetic slide alongside silver coins. I'm calling it simply "white metal" for now.

Also have a Kleeberg type 2 reales on the way and will post that when it arrives.

These lower denomination Portrait reales are all VERY rare.

In terms of increasing rarity from left to right we have: 8R, ,2R 4R and 1/2 & 1R (equally).

Most 1/2R & 1R's are UNIQUE IMO.

In my new book due out around March 2017 I do the final treatment of the last 50 or so varieties. To date there is about 150 varieties.

Interesting re: the rarity John. This is the first off-metal CC 1R I've ever seen, though I have seen many 2, 4 and 8R (never saw a 1/2R yet). Makes sense I suppose, if they are that hard to come by.
Which denominations does your upcoming publication cover?

This 1804 is probably the CC 1R I've come across the most (EDIT: there is a 1782 Mo mintmark type that I've seen probably a similar amount of)... Per my pic files, this is at least the 6th specimen I've seen. This one is pretty worn (I passed as such), but the goofy strike (O/C, doubled) is interesting - not really present on the others I've seen.

Its siblings:

Thanks for the reference examples realeswatcher. It's interesting to see the difference in quality and overall appeal of several examples here. Mine actually doesn't appear to be nearly as worn as it may look from the pictures. That was basically what caught my eye as a crude CC rather than a heavily worn genuine coin. The better struck details really don't show more than moderate wear.
