Hi, Just joined to see if I can get this coin identified.
Date and internals match this one: Ottoman Empire. Mahmud II (1222-1253h / 1808-1839 AD). Gold Cedid Mahmudiye Qustantiniya 1223h, Year 29, 1.58g (KM 645) But the rim is different... Diameter is 2cm and weight is about 1-2g, scale definition not large enough.
@sitsky, first welcome to CCF. Second, as the design is generally correct but the rim is not and the material is not (doesn't look like gold and too lightweight as well), perhaps this "coin" was made for the jewelry market? We sometimes see so-called belly dancer tokens, but this seems to have more workmanship than those do. I would be interested to hear what others think of this tentative opinion.
