An uncle gave this coin to me when I was younger and I am wondering if someone could help me with identifying if it is an original or re-strike and what variety. I am ultimately looking to determine its value. I have a few images which I will post now and will post some better ones after the new year since I am out right now.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

There are several other threads here on CCF which you can find by using the search box in the upper left with keywords like "maria theresa thaler".

Maria THERESIA Dei Gratia Romanorum IMPReratrix HUgariae BUrgundiae REGina
Maria Theresia, by gods grace, empress of the holy roman empire, ueen of Hugaria and Burgundy
ARCHIDucissa AUSTriae DUX BURGundiae COmitissa TYRolis 1780 X
archducess of Austria, ducess of Burguny, countess of Tyrol
Is there any writing on the edge? (IUSTITIA ET CLEMENTIA)
Ther are indeed a lot of varieties of this coin.
On an Original there should be a mintmark under the claws:
AH-GS, AU-GS or IC-FA
Under the bust I see SF
So I think it is the restrike. All the restrikes from 1781 till today have the date 1780.
And here is the value: https://www.NGCcoin.com/price-guide...-duid-353392
