I know little about this other than what I found on the net. It appears to be the right one but from what I have read, the mint mark 'S' should not be doubled. I have taken some pics indoors inside a 2x2 and outside, out of the 2x2 so the coloration is different. The last image was taken from the PCGS website of an authentic DDO and it sure looks like the one I have. I know there are those of you who have been at this for long time and can shed some light on it and I appreciate it greatly. Thanks in advance for your help....Bob This is the mint mark on my coin..... This is the mint mark on a verified coin on the PCGS website

Wow. It sure looks right to me, too. I'm not an error expert, and I'm sure there will be some that answer you, but from what I see you scored a beauty. In this case I hope I'm right.

Thank all of you for the quick replies. As I said in my intro page, I found a few old coin books I had when I was a kid and decided to see if I could fill in the holes. Started picking up pennies and watched some you tube videos to see what to watch for and ran across this one.
I'm looking forward to future comments.

Well, heres the thing, This is unbelievable. This is without a doubt the one. It is just one you cannot miss. This forum hasn't seen many. So, what you need to do is send this to a TPG, I recommend PCGS. Do NOT clean the coin. Be very careful while handling it. One coin in Mint state was found, and sold for $129,000. Your coin is not in mint state, but... It can be worth a lot. As it may seem tempting. Do not clean it. It will destroy the value

Thanks Mark1959, I had looked at those and the conflict I'm having is one post I read while trying to do research is that the real DDO does not have a doubled mint mark. The one of the PCGS website appears to be the same as mine and it looks doubled.....that's why I ended up here with you guys.

Dustin6, thanks for your input. No, I would not clean it, I have read enough to know that is not the thing to do. When I found it, I put it in a 2x2 for safe keeping but took it out today to take pictures so I could upload it here. I didn't want to send it in to PCGS until I had someone more knowledgeable than me look at it.
Thank you all for your comments.

If a guy called Coop shows up and agrees that this is the real deal, don't let him try to marry you. I replied first!

Surfaces look weird on this one.
Your first step would be to send it in to PCGS or NGC to be graded. It could be worth 10k+
