I posted a coin exactly like this one awhile back. I think the other coin was a bit more worn, maybe this coin will provide some answers. I see a re-punched Mint Mark that is either punched like 3 times, or has been machine doubled after the RPM. You can see a serif split at the top and the bottom of the D. After that...I am not sure what's going on. I don't see any evidence of Machine Doubling anywhere else on the reverse of this coin, you can see some of the design elements in the area of the Mint Mark, they appear normal to me. I could not find anything similar in the CPG or another OMM and RPM book....any thoughts ?

The notches indicate a minor RPM, the evidence of Machine Doubling on the D is the two areas of striated metal as seen between the red lines. It appears to be a single repunch and the rest is Machine Doubling damage.

Thanks,
Bill

That is what I was thinking, the only thing I could not figure out was why there was no evidence of the Machine Doubling on any of the other devices anywhere on the reverse. If this were the highest point it would be a no-brainer, but it is fairly well protected by the surrounding design, and just about the same height. Thanks for the insight.

Foundinrolls said it exactly. To add, it wouldn't be in the CPG because it is too minor for that book. You must remember that the CPG is a "best of" book that only covers about 5% of all the known die varieties. It's not an all-inclusive comprehensive book and was never intended to be.
