Consider the seller and his history at being discussed on this and other coin sites, mostly for his NNC cert'd coins (his brand). For me, this auction has 11' pole marks all over it. Look at the bidding history of the 2 key bidders (96% and 98% of their total ebay bids are from this seller.)

Centles sells lots of really good coins, but some I just shake my head at. I've gotten some very nice stuff from him in the past that were unmentioned variieties. Maybe this is real and a bargain, but I personally would shy away from any coin that expensive and sight unseen.

okie beat me to it,

both top bidders 96% and 98% bidding activity with this one seller. and not just on a couple of items, well into the multiple hundreds of bids.

they must really like this seller

I think this would be a coin in hand kind of purchase, considering the grading company, seller and low quality pics.

Am I confusing ICG with something else? It's been awhile but I know I had IC? with a green label but the same type shape plastic holder - I had some kind of silver eagles in them that were labeled from West Point Mint on the label but no W on the coin - I sold them.

I send coins to ICG all the time. They changed their holders recently from green to blue. I like the new blue ones.

I'm starting to think that when a seller has 180,000+ sold items, ebay hires their own shills. I mean, that bid history is disgusting. k***t comes in at $USD1000 and bids it up past $7550. With 0 feedback on 478 items, 98% with this seller. I fell for this scam once or twice 10+ years ago, but not for eight grand.

Anyone who pays more than $8000 for a coin without it in hand (or from a reputable auction house where viewers are actually there to opine) needs their head examined. ICG has always been very generous and liberal with their grades and the rim ding on this coin precludes anything near a 65.

IGC is a bit in the middle of PCGS, NGC, and Anacs, and then a bunch of Basement ones
