to the forum! That is also known as a wide rim. They usually sell for around $4.00 - $6.00 on ebay in circulated condition. Nice coin, but doesn't count as a find if you bought it!

It is a coin variety. You can add it to your collection. The wide rims were common for the 1980 forward SBA dollars. Just the wide rims 1979 are the variety ones.

Lol. It wasn't labeled as a wide rim. I just noticed it looked different then the rest of my SBA's

Your knowledge paid off. A nice item to add to your collection, and I'm sure it's one that you will remember since you "found" the variety.

The 2x2 is clearly labeled "301" identifying the variety, but not many speak "Fivaz-Stanton" outside the variety attribution world.
Nice pick up!

Yes the 2x2 is labeled with the attribution number, so I think they knew, nice buy though.

I labeled it just to keep up with it. I have a few other SBA so I put it on to keep it separate
