I am PERPLEXED! Under "US Coin Facts", you are supposed to be able to look up ANY "US MINTED" coin, but there is NO mention of the Philippine coins minted BY the US, or the fact that that the ONLY US mint outside of the USA was located in MANILA, OR that these coins say"UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" on them. Even though they are now listed in nearly ALL U.S coin value guides AS U.S coins. Recently, many good articles have been written about these coins. Collectors, experts, Price guides are all realizing that these are THE most undervalued coins in the entire hobby! WHY don't you recognize them? With mintages and graded populations a fraction of "American" coins that are valued at MANY times more, these coins are the Best bargains in the World. For now... C'mon...how about something on these beautiful AMERICAN COINS!

It's not that we don't recognize them. We actually sell a lot of these. All of the additional informational pages on this site have been worked on and added in the past 4 months. We're doing as much as we can as fast as we can. The US minted Philippine coins still need to be added to the Coin Facts and Coin Histories pages. This is going to be done as soon as possible, but it will be a while before they are added. Please be patient. We are aware of these coins and do want to add that info.

I'm glad to see your so passionate about these coins. It's collectors like you who cause the attention in that direction.
I have collected these coins for many years, here & there, and just put them away. When I started you could find them in the five for a dollar box at many of the shows. The design is beautiful and those who prefer the old designs would find a treasure in these.
keep up the good work..!

Got a few of those babies myself, even a couple in unc., that my dealer didn't know what to do with a couple of years ago so he just gave them to me! Have to admit the price was right and they are very attractive coins. It amazes me how many of them found their way back to the U.S. as they are not legal tender here!

Yes, I would like to second that request. It would be awesome to have an up to date website on U.S./Philippine coinage.

Yes, Philippine coinages is much under-rated, I have done a complete Phillipine Type Set (Whitman) Yet, I must say someone offered me a really nice price for the 1936M Commonwealth commemoratives KM 176-177 and 178. I sold the BU set of three- however have replaced KM 176 and KM 178-- I would like to replace the KM177 Roosevelt -Quezon and in BU. Let me know if you know where this coin is to be had. -- And speaking of low mintage in this set- the MacArthur 50 Centavo and One Peso are both in the low 5 digit figures in mintage--100,000 pieces I believe for the One Peso

Wow! I've got one of those. A guy told me if I could guess what kind of coin it was I could have it. Broke out my RedBook, and there it was. Now it's mine. I believe it's the smaller version of the one peso - 1907, minted in San Francisco - got the S mint mark below the little dot between UNITED and the date.

As far as I can remember ive seen an article in one of the web that US-Phil. coin was pull out by amiricans during WWII. and a number of coins was dump in manila bay so the japanese wont have it,Maybe one of the ship arrive in US with coins or most of the soldier have sourvenier,Most likely it will end up most in USA a number of coins were minted in their and most the coins that remains in the philippines end up to be melted.
