I recently picked up an 1805 Draped Bust quarter in really decent condition for a nice price from 222356279728

It's my first ever draped bust silver coin (also, my last coin buy for 2016 at 10:00 PM) and I am so stoked!

And I paid just $55!

I can't believe there's really not much relatively common US coinage types to explore after draped bust...really getting down to the pinnacle and core of American coinage.

Also, can't believe how much the price climbs when the coin is even a few years older. While only 12 years earlier than my 1817 Capped Bust quarter, it's worth twice as much!

Just think about the thousands of times this quarter has been spent, then spent some time on a necklace perhaps, then repaired and eventually sold to you!

Any draped is always a great addition to a collection. It's particularly neat that you will always remember this as your New Years Eve find. Congratulations.

Looks like a terribly ugly, holed coin that was filled. I am puzzled as to why you are so "stoked" about this coin?

The great thing about coin collecting is that it is a hobby that can accommodate nearly every person's taste, budget and preference.

The only thing that matters is if you like it.
