A co-worker asked me if this had more than a $5.00 value & I didn't know. I thought I would ask the Community because it's filled with knowledge.

Due to condition... Not really, but he/she might be able to get a few dollars over face value for it...

These sell on average on ebay for $6 to $10. It's a fairly common series and random serial number. I recently saw one sell for less than face value.

I have one in similar condition that I keep in my wallet with other older notes to show civilians what I look for and collect.

Mind, not all $5 Red Seals, even in this condition, are worth so little. It depends on the series designation, shown to the lower right of the portrait (here, Series of 1963). Earlier ones can be worth much more, depending on several factors.

In general, I would hold onto any bills from before the 70's. It's likely worth 6 or 7 dollars.
