looks to me it was perhaps a metal detector find and the color change is from being in the ground. Do you have its weight and measurements? A standard LSC should weigh 2.5 grams

It looks normal to me. Lincoln cents are not clad coins. The newer cents, from 1982 to date, are Copper plated Zinc weighing 2.5 grams.
It is impossible to tell a Copper plated cent from a 95% Copper cent by color. Some newer cents look the same color as older cents simply because of what they have been exposed to. Uncirculated older cents, say from the 1950's, look the same color as 2017 cents if they are both uncirculated and have been stored properly.
