Just wondering if you guys thought this is genuine and what the value in this condition could be? I found one in similar condition, if not slightly better, on ebay that sold for about $10.

Hello spruett001, I see nothing that would cause me to think that it was not genuine. With the pitting and corrosion evident on this coin I would suspect that it was recovered. Maybe found with a metal detector or underneath an old structure.

Since it has so much wear and environmental damage, IMO the value would be less than $20. Still a decent specimen though since it has no cuts, dings or file marks.

It measured 1.6g on my scale (which only goes to tenths) so it is at least 0.05g underweight, but that doesn't seem far-fetched in its condition.

The coin looks genuine to me based on the others I have seen. I am more familiar with 8R types, but the half reales are common enough as metal detector finds that I would not be very concerned. I am not aware of any counterfeits that were made this well. Surfaces show some dark deposits which are typical of salvage. The weight is not bad at all.
