Hi everyone, I just got this Kushan Tetradrachm. I believe it features the King making a sacrifice on the obverse and Athsho, the god of metals, on the reverse.

Is this in fact correct? Any additional information about the proper ID of this coin would be appreciated!

Also, I paid $41 (with shipping) for this coin. Do you think that I did ok? Thanks!

I do not have a Kushan tetradrachm; for that reason,
I would have gladly paid $41 for that coin !
Kushan gold is relatively easy to obtain.

I have to confess that I do not know enough about Kushan numismatics, but the acquisition of it
would have made me find a lot more of that information that is available.

Google images would be my starting point, then
Vcoins, then
my own library of about 20 books on ancient coins, then
Google Kushan history.

I believe it's Athsho, not Vado, on the reverse. Vado/Oado would be depicted with arms up and holding a cloak that's blowing in the breeze. Here's the Mitchiner 3114 from Tom Mallon's site for comparison:

The Bactrian spelling of each:

Your right Bob, I just realized my error and was about to change it.

I think this is closer to the OP coin.
