Here is a similar coin as Pepactonius posted earlier today--4 pfennig from Muenster dated 1714 AD. Interestingly, his is the G8 version, while mine is the GS version.   "If you climb a good tree, you get a push."

France (occasionally listed as French Colonies), 30 deniers (mousquetaire), 1710-AA (Metz mint).   This type is apparently listed in the Red Book, with a value for this particular date of $75 in VG-8 (though my example is probably AG-3 or less). I personally just picked it out of a bargain bin for 100 rubles (~$1.7 at the time). Still looking for an actual colonial... |
