1st post, go easy on me! Researching histories surrounding dates listed on coin, I found no one definitive event to proclaim "In infamy" about. This is written in French, but believe it to be Belgian, the Treaty of London signed 19 APR 1839 was concerning Belgian territory and other matters. A Bartelemy de Thuex de Merlandt was appointed the cabinet post of Prime Minister at this time also. No histories indicated de Theux as involved in the treaty, either pro or con as in protests. Anyone know what this coin refers to? Usually can get some idea from histories, but not this time, completely stumped.

@crazybo, first welcome to CCF. Second, could it maybe be from Luxembourg instead? I see another token that also has "un infame" on one side from this general timetrame, but it is from Luxembourg.

Spence, thanks. It could well be Luxemborg, have to research their histories. The Treaty of London also covered Luxemborg, Holland, Limburg in setting bounderies et.al. in this time frame as well

Spence, again thanks. That looks like it, one side at least. Wasn't able to see other side, maybe doing something wrong. The description mentioned a "senator"(?) and some form of meetings in 1838. There were lots of discussions going on, the sense I get is somebody, a country or group of people got screwed by the politicians wheeling & dealings, never changes, does it! Do you know of any online resources for identifying coins like this, like NGC? Think the jury's still out on this one tho.

Yes, sorry that is all I have to offer. You could consider requesting that the mods move this thread over to the tokens area of CCF as someone there might have more info at their hands.

He accepted to give back a part of Limburg and a part of Luxemburg to the Netherlands .After the independance in 1830 , Belgium had occupied these territories . Read more in this account on Wikipedia. I think you can translate it . albert https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barth..._de_Meylandt

Tryna, thank you for the link, although don't speak French, can get the gist of it referring to the "Medal", which I'm asuming is this coin I have. Antwerpen2306,thank you also for the link, the English version didn't mention de Theux being involved in any deliberations or deals. That is the info detail I was looking for
