http://www.ebay.com/sch/m.html?_nkw...lverseller14There are many "unsearched" rolls for sale. Not that part of the scam. Why are so many bid up to insane prices, by a 0 feedback buyer and a 2 feedback buyer? Both of whom have 100% bid activity with this seller. Why would a seller shill his items so high and pay fees, just to leave good fake feedback? Could it be that these are genuine buying accounts? The end coins on the rolls are garbage, too. Makes no sense! Edited by indian_hoarder 01/08/2017 7:46 pm

Looks like shill to me. 100% with the seller and one has nearly 100 bids with the same seller.

Shill bidding to get the uninformed coin collector to bid - probably hitting on the "Coin Vault" watchers!! Quacks me up - 2 end roll 1/10 gold eagles in the roll of worthless wheats going for over 1500$

ebay gladly shells out dollars to fake bidders and other thieves because somehow they are still making a profit off of known internet thieves. I bought a common 1879 Morgan for $59 and never got the coin and dealer did not even bother to respond to me or ebay. I will post the name they used.

Quote: eBay gladly shells out dollars to fake bidders Maybe - BUT with their new policy of protecting the buyer - IF the seller does not respond to a refund request - ebay will get you one from the seller!! That's why I never can understand ebay Buyers worried about their purchases. Just open up a dispute case through ebay and you will get your money back even if the Sellers states "No Refunds"

Seller doesn't have pay the fees. If the seller doesn't like the final bid and it's one of his shills, the shill just requests that the seller cancel the order, and all is good. No fees are charged.

And ebay's amazing automatic detection systems will ignore 25 cancelled orders from 2 different, newly created accounts, with 100% bid activity with the seller? Interesting.

^ This. It seems like it should be fairly easy to identify shill accounts, but its obvious ebay does not care.

Search hard enough and you will find problems with any system. Search 10,000 ebay lots and 9,998 of them are just fine in real "antique" classic coins. Get to errors and that drops to about 90%. Get over to high dollar purses in the ladies section once and you will see what problems really look like.

This is not a government action that requires due process. When an account has most of their bidding with one other account that has no other bidders and the auction wins keep getting cancelled to avoid ebay fees, ebay can just cancel both accounts. They choose not to do so as they just don't give a darn.

That's absurd. We were power sellers on ebay for years and had dozens of customers that we met at coin shows and flea market that ONLY bought from us, no one else because they didn't like ebay. Their bid history would show 100% from us. You'd just cancel their accounts if someone pointed it out?

Agreed, Bobby. But, when a buyer has a feedback score in the single digits and a 100% bid history with questionable seller they may warrant a look.

Warrant a look yes, but most likely you will see nothing definitive.
