Looks like a number of proof IHC's and fec's tone purple. My history well is a bit dry for something new here but I thought this might be a nice little post from stuff I found on the internet. Some drawings of making ancient coins Hammering and using a press.     and a couple ancient coins that show coins being made on them.   |

 This is very intersting. Where is it from? Now would'nt it be interesting if the coin being made on the coin was supposed to be the coin showing the coin being made? Been enthralled lately with the toning of Indian Head cents. The best examples seem to come from proof specimens but here's a business strike. Haven't posted in a while. Do you remember watching the $100,000 nickel episode of Hawaii Five-0 for the first time? They drop the nickel (don't know if it was the real one) into a coin operated newspaper vending machine. The episode began at a coin show...  Apparently this was the nickel they used. Brings up great memories. I'm sorry to point this out and get things off track but it appears it was a little known fact that either Fozzy from Sesame Street or maybe the Werewolf of London was a coin collector?  PS: I promise to make up for this with a quality post in the near future. |
