I closed a deal on paying $70 for 4 sheets of 8 uncut 1976 $2 bills each. Since the face value is $64, I figured I had little to lose. I don't have it in hand yet (will be picking it up at 9 am tomorrow). The trouble is the seller said that the two dollar bill sheets were attached to a frame backing using small pieces of double sided tape. Although the seller said that the tape left no residue, I worry. Any advice if it doesn't come off easily? Acetone perhaps? Here are some (awful) seller pics.

When I look closely, I see the loops of Neff on the left hand side signature. Do you agree?

I think the signature on the sheets is this one.

You did very well price-wise.

When removing the tape try using a pocket knife to lift up one edge of tape at a time. Once you have an edge lifted try pulling the tape off at a 45 degree angle. Pull very slowly to insure you aren't pulling up ink or paper and aren't tearing the paper. It is a tedious process but this method has worked for me in the past in similar situations.

Any remaining tape residue should be able to be removed with isopropyl alcohol. I use cotton swabs dipped in alcohol for that procedure.

Good luck!

When I squint at the pictures I think I see 1976 L-* FRN's!

Raw 1976 L stars used to bring about $20 to 25$ each. They probably bring about half that amount now as raw notes. High grade 66/67/68 PPQ slabbed notes still bring a pretty good premium.

Great Price. I'd love to see them when you get them in-hand. Best of luck with that tape.
