Hi All, over the years I've held onto some coins because I thought they just looked unusual. I have a 1961 Lincoln Cent that weighs approx 13g less then a regular 1961 !incoln Cent and it is a strange dark silver color. Is just oxidation?

Oxidation, corrosion, but still within acceptable range. It is normal and fit to spend.

Looks like I can see copper near the 'L' on LIBERTY on the rim. So it may have been plated. The only chance it could be silver would be if the coin was struck on a dime planchet.

Then it would only weight 2.5 Grams But then the coin would be smaller in diameter.
