1989 D Lincoln With Wierd Rim And Multiple Die Chips?

On the obverse of this coin the rim looks funny to me. Not sure what this is. The reverse looks like they started out as die chips,then migrated to rot. Thoughts? Thanks for looking!

Looks like a split plating issue on both sides of the coin. Even the slightest split can affect the coin. I see it on both sides.

The minute air gets into a mini-micro split of the thin copper plate, the zinc begins to deteriorate...causing bubbles, lines, flaking, etc. The beginnings of an ugly coin.
