Looking through my change today and I spot this quarter. Is it anything special or is it common with older quarters?

Filled mint marks are not uncommon. They rarely add any additional value.

They are caused by the post that should form the inside of the mint mark has broken off the die. Sometimes they are taller than the mint mark itself when the part that was holding the post has broken off deeper into the die. Making it taller than the mint mark. As mentioned, no premium, but sometimes know why it happened helps us to understand it better.
