As you may have noticed, I've been less active in the last few weeks. The main reason is work, I'm currently just having way too much to do, about the equivalent of 4 full time jobs of work waiting for me and it's basically consuming all my time.
So, I'll be online every now and then, but not as often as I want to.

So here's what's happening and what happened.
The current problem is that it seems that I may lose my job soon, despite having worked my behind off for this company in the last few months. They weren't doing well financially and the atmosphere internally has been horrible for a while, they've had a few rounds of downsizing over the last years, so now that there's an announcement that another round is coming, which especially will hit my unit, things don't look well. I've been doing a lot of on-site work for them and thus the biggest complaint about me is that I haven't been sitting at my desk at headquarters often enough... So then you know exactly what's going to happen, methinks. I'm already applying for something new.

Gotcha. You were out doing work instead of participating in office politics. Polish off your resume and start confidentially reaching out to contacts. It's always funny if you get kept and then quit anyway.

Well, guess what, I thus lost my job. I used some time to find a new one. The good news is that I now found a job with a better salary and better work conditions, so all in all I guess it wasn't a bad thing to happen, although the work load of the last months and uncertainty stressed me out a lot and wasn't fun at all. Will start there in October. And I expect to be more active here as well, again.

Thanks all! I now enjoy a few days off, spend a bit of time with family and friends and also use a bit of time to do all the things I was supposed to do in the last few months but just didn't have time to do. Sending out prizes for my contest is one of them. I'll do that tomorrow first thing in the morning. They're here, ready to be sent!
