Opinions On 1989 D Lincoln Cent With Doubling

jc_hicks New Member United States 34 Posts	Posted 01/16/2017 01:12 am I came across this in pocket change. There appears to be doubling on the obverse and reverse side. Although it needs to be cleaned, I believe I see some mottling around the areas I'm talking about. It also seems a little heavier that a zinc planchet (getting scales tomorrow), and there are some pretty deep scratches but no signs of visible zinc although the light in some pictures may make it appear that way. Would love to hear some opinions from a trained eye! My go-to reference didn't have anything on it. Thanks in advance. Report this Post to the Staff

No need to clean it. The reverse split plating can be seen on the outside edge of the devices and sometimes on the outside of the Memorial on the columns. Report this Post to the Staff
