I have a 1909-S VDB I have been terrified to send in for grading. I took it in to a coin dealer and he told me it's 50 50 that its real but send it in to find out, he said he wouldn't tell me to if he knew it was 100% fake but the problem is there is 4 different ways the S was struck and he didn't know all 4 so hopefully that was just the problem, but could someone look at it and verify it's real for me so I can get it graded. I also want a personal grading from someone, I was thinking 61RD comparing it to the PCGS images of graded coins but who do you all think?

While I'm not an expert on s-vdb 's , I do know you need to provide better photos of date and mint and of v.d.b.
also close ups of obverse and reverse of the entire coin .

Could you provide an additional photo of the front & back of the cent? See attached for an example...

Yes, We can't give you any info unless we see close-ups of the V.D.B and mintmark and date.

Sorry, but we'll need closer and clearer pics of the 1909 S and the VDB.

Maybe this will help you with the coin in hand.

Tone-wise, it looks red-brown to me. "S" looks tilted to me. Here is a link on this topic: http://www.PCGS.com/News/Counterfei...incoln-Cents

"S" looks a bit off, but I'm no expert on this.

Doesn't this belong in the modern forum though?

The link Otto provided should help you decide.

If you want our help, we really need sharp upright photos.

Looks like Die Pair #4 to me - preliminary opinion is that it's probably okay, but I'll wait for better pics.

Open the holder so that the frost of the plastic is not diluting the picture quality.

Also, if possible, please rotate 90 degree to the right, so the obv and rev are oriented correctly when you post the pictures.

THANKS!
