I guess this is the right place to post this? Obviously it is a tax token got it also at a flea market a few days ago never seen or heard of one being made of cardboard before.
Yrs a number of states made some tax tokens out of a pressboard material. It was cheaper than either plastic or metal ones. Its number is S18 in Malehorn and Davenport's tax token and stamp book. They attribute it to 1943-1953 unknown mintage's and done by the Label house. It is listed as extremely common. Some claim that there are errors, but there are enough out there with the same error in printing or punching that one can say quality control was non extant. color vary also from blue-green to white depending on the quality of the board used. There is also another token that is same design almost and made from Fiberboard
