Great stuff, CCya. Now, don't be afraid to expand your work into post-processing. It's not "immoral" to adjust contrast, brightness and sharpness to make up for limitations imposed by the slab. That's a commonly-accepted practice among coin photographers, as long as your aim is to make the image truer to the actual coin.

I'll be "jumpin in" this process soon myself.
.....practice ....practice....practice........right?......
I wouldn't be unhappy with these shots though. I couldn't even put my first shots up they were so bad....need to be trying that again.

It's not that hard. Just aim and fire. It's especially easy at point blank.

(I couldn't resist)

It's tough mostly because of the glare, just try to get the right lighting and position right. It's different for every coin.

Did some photo magic here. Are these more accurate to what the coins look like in person? I made the photos sharper to show more detail and used the I'm feeling lucky for the rest of the adjustments.

I thought this thread was about a new way to get rid of slabs by using them for target practice.

Coins came from pocket, coins belong in pocket.

Nevertheless, nice coins and nice pictures.

Nice coins, and your photos are getting there, too. Once you learn a bit about post processing your digital images, you'll have a blast with all sorts of photos. Photography is a great adjunct hobby to coin collecting.
