Here's my one and only Carson City double eagle. The PCGS grade is possibly on the conservative side and I wonder if I'm feeling lucky. Wouldn't be that hard to crack it out....

What are your opinions on grade and overall quality?

No idea how to grade these, but nice coin!

Anything that color is nice.

You hadn't mentioned PCGS's grade, no expert on these but strike looks solid, some scratches in fields, I give a guess at MS 63 or 64?

I'd say AU-55, but given the state of grade-flation, the number on the slab label could be higher. At any rate that is no way that coin is a "true" Mint State piece regardless of what the slab says. There is too much friction in the fields.

I think with better lighting it could be a low MS, but I'm at AU58 on these photos
