Hey fellow coinfreaks! this is my first post on here and am super excited there's a community for people just like me! What I was wondering is, where would the best place, in your opinion, be to start hunting for relics of time past? I mean, finding a coin you need, love, is well graded and well priced, is a victory in itself. But it's time for me to get out there, get my hands dirty, and use my silly little bounty hunter til I can pay for a tektonik or garrett with my finds.

So, in conclusion, where have you detectorists had the most luck in finding long forgotten beauties?

And is my rinkity ol bounty hunter a proper enough machine to get me to the next step?

Where to mine relics? Anywhere people have gathered for the last hundred years or more.
Could be as easy as your own back yard (or neighbors) or as simple as farmer Smith's bi-centennial farm field.
When I listen to LED ZEPPELIN...so do my neighbors...
Roll hunting since '77
Dirt fishing since '72
Rest in Peace

I have found that old school yards and ball fields are really good. Actually it all depends on where you live ,if by the oceans ,beaches can be pretty good . As soon as you can , Get rid of that bounty hunter and go with Garrett .
Rest in Peace

Find where outdoor theaters once existed. If they closed early in the 60s or so the metal detector of the 30 years thereafter wasn't nearly as good at getting the deep coins as what's available today.
