It's cleaned and only worth melt + a few bucks.

Some folks collect Encased Coins. I wouldn't crack it.

I agree with all other comments. Leave as is. If you decide to sell, a non-collector likely will pay more than "melt + a few bucks."

You know you can go on ebay and buy graded and slabbed common Morgans for the same price as Raw ones. If they are common I crack them out to add to my album. The more scarce ones I keep in their slabs. I have all but 2 of the Carson City Morgans and they are slabbed. I won't break them out. If I get a 1993CC or 1889CC in a slab that I won't break it out because if they are in AU or above they sell almost like money, heh,heh.

I have a stupid question for coin197. How can you tell it was cleaned? Sorry if it's an obvious answer but I'm trying to learn as much as possible & telling cleaned coins is an area I need help in lol.

Cracking these paperweights isn't easy. You might damage the coin trying.

The luster is missing, so it's probably over-dipped, a form of abrasive cleaning.
