Take that with a grain of salt, the Royal Canadian Mint filters their own reviews, and pretty much weed out any negative reviews....

@SPP-Ottawa RCM does not filter reviews. Trust me because I have posted some very negative ones on their website and not one has been rejected. The above coins may be highly rated because there may have been quite a few positive reviews on these coins. That is all!!

Quote: The above coins may be highly rated because there may have been quite a few positive reviews on these coins. That is all!! I think, everything is much more simple. RCM (and not only) filters, adds, removes the comments to manipulate the rates. Why even wouldn't they? This way work reports everywhere - shown exactly what needs to be shown. Simple concern about these coins "highly rated" - normally popular coins have to be sold-out. And these: Snowflake again? Royal? Diwali coin?

@silveroid I am stating facts!! RCM does NOT filter reviews. I have written many negative reviews and they get posted. STOP spreading lies. Maybe you should do some research and check out the website.

The Top-Rated Coin ratings really doesn't mean much. Take the Hero coin for example; many may like the fact the mint produced a police coin and say so in a review but not feel compelled to purchase it because it's not what they collect.

@New1954: The fact that RCM didn't remove your negative feedback, doesn't means, that they didn't add 30 positive feedbacks on top. Checking mint website it same waste of time like writing reviews etc.

@onecad
Most positive reviews are written by purchasers of the coin.
Negative reviews, like the ones I write, are for coins I do not like.

Of course the Mint censors reviews. I've had reviews and questions not posted to the point that I don't bother submitting.
It's also interesting that this press release that claims to be the 'top rated' coins is not really the top rated coins. It's a list of coins available to purchase.
Nothing more than an attempt to sell unpopular and even older issues.

Some of my reviews have been BRUTAL and they were still posted. Check out the reviews of that squirrel coin with wood pieces and you will find all negative reviews.

Hahaha, that squirrel coin with wood may quite possibly be the worst coin they've ever done.

It is possible that the RCM's policy on reviews has changed over the years. Maybe they now allow more negative reviews to stand as written. In the past, however, I have had personal experience with noticing the removal of several negative reviews - in each case, a bad review was there one day but then not there several days later went I went back to view the new reviews of the same coin.

Maybe you should do some research and check out the website That's cute... I am a research scientist, and I live in the city where these coins are made and workers (some of whom are friends) work. I have done the research. Yes, the reviews get posted. Then, after a short time, some of the worst ones are vetted and removed. I can count at least NINE times my bad reviews were specifically removed. Gone. One day over beers, I even asked a buddy who was in Marketing with the RCM about that and he just grinned sheepishly and bought me another beer without saying a word.... I never bothered to post reviews again.
