I picked this one up recently hoping it was a 1N (unicorn D), but there are several breaks that don't match. I don't have photos yet, but I did diagram the breaks on a 21-D template. I couldn't match that break from the obverse rim, through the six right star, into the hair and ending at the neck. Any thoughts?

Don't think I haven't seen this one, I'm just hurting for time at the moment. When researching, concentrate on the date/left stars, TED/wingtip, and AMER. The crossed cracks at the first left star are a relatively rare combination. Figure this to be an EDS version, and look for faint cracks.

Looks like it could be an EDS of JOH-15 which became VAM-1CP, if it has the scribling scratches. Go to VAMWORLD and compare yours with the pictures.

SeatedNut,

I always get a headache looking at 1921's. I'll keep an eye out and let you know if I stumble onto it. Post pics as soon as you can.

I should have mentioned there are no scribbling scratches on the reverse. This would have eliminated about 1/2 the possibles. I'll try to get pics up today. The grandson is over so it might be tough.

Mine doesn't have the scribling scratches either, that why it's called a JOH-15. The JOH numbers were used during the Fun With 21 research (JOyce-Hart) for coins that were too insignificant for VAM numbers as determined by Leroy. The JOH was a fun type thing for them and is pronounced Joe. It's still worth at least melt, maybe more on ebay!! lol

Where did you find the 1921-D template? I would very much like to use that template. Oz
