We were given these probably shortly after they were made... I haven't been able to find pictures or information about this version of coin in silver, or the collection at all. Any information or direction anyone might have as to researching value would be really helpful.

Well, they are medals, not coins. Issued to commemorate the death of King Faisal in 1975.

There are gold and silver plated "proof" fakes of this medal coming out of China, but yours looks to be original. I would guess they are not all that common, especially this set of 4. It looks like they have been "cleaned" and scratched a bit, though.

There have been a few sets on ebay, but too long ago to retrieve additional information.

Can you tell us the diameters and weights of each medal?

Very nice medals, I would be happy to buy this set. Are you interested in selling?

I have a similar set, same basic design, but rectangular.
Some details are different, due to the different shape.
For example, the wreath is in a "U" shape, not round like yours.

The box is similar too. The only difference being the shape of the holes in the felt.
Pasted on the inside lid is a note in printed cursive script:
With Eomptiments (sic) of
Hisham M. Naxer (sic)
Minister of Planning

The Minister of Planning would be Hisham Nazer.

To the left of the 925 mark, it looks like there is a star followed by some numbers and letters.
You can look up the maker here:

Mine are marked 121 MI
