I wonder if the knowledgeable folks here could help me with these tokens found in my late uncle's collection. They are, I believe legacy tokens honoring the first president of the United States. How old are they? Are they rare? Do they have any value, historical or monetarily?
Thanks

The first is a late 1700s (1789 or 1790) George Washington, Twigg medal. It's listed as Baker-65. It is in a well-preserved state and is very valuable. Maybe $500 - $1000. At first glance, it appears genuine, but an in-hand observation will be needed to be 100% sure.

The second is familiar to me, but I don't know much about it. Let me see if I can do some research! I'll update if I find anything.

Edit: The second is Baker-69(a). It looks like tin or white metal from the photos. This was also produced in the late 1700s, likely the 1790s. I've looked at prices realized for this piece and they're all over the place.

Both of these coins will need authentication and proper attribution. Congrats on some cool pieces of history!

WOW!

Thank you for your response . .

Might be worth sending these out to be authenticated and slabbed.

The second is a "Republic America" medal of 1796. They come in several varieties and your appears to be "White Metal" composition. More might be to be by looking through Presidential Auction Catalog archives on the Newman Numismatic Portal. I have one of these in white metal obtained from Presidential many years ago. Joe Levine always provided good write ups about medals for sale in his auctions. I recall his auction catalogs were digitized recently so a simple word search for "Republic America medal" on the NNP should take you there directly.

Great finds! They look genuine to my eye. NGC would be my choice for certification.
