Was getting pictures of this coin today to list for sale and the 5 in the date caught my eye. It's EF45. Thoughts? is this PMD or is it due to doubling of the 5

Maybe PMD as the 8 looks like it took a hit also.

I just checked five 1858 Marker Is I have in EF45-AU58.

The slight doubling on the 5 is present on all of them.

This would suggest that there is only 1 die pair for the 1858 Marker I.

I think this coin might have a different reverse die, I have a lower grade with same markers this was posted by coin scavenger and it sold recently no sure where it went. There's a die crack just under 3 o clock. most others are around 10 o clock and I am not sure but I think I see some differences in the bow.

I also have a low grade which does not show either of the die cracks
