Here's my 1853 large cent clip. I'd appreciate any comments(good and bad) or grades since I don't know much on this series. I would also like to know how common clips are in large cents.

Hi,

I wouldn't have anything bad to say about a nice , genuine large cent , struck on an incomplete planchet! Nice Coin! I am not a Large cent expert, so I don't know about rarity or worth on these.

Gradewise, It looks to be between F and VF and could go VF. The distortion of details due to being struck on an incomplete planchet would not detract from the grade.

That's a FUN coin!

Thanks,
Bill

Compared to most large cents I see in shops I'd say that's a pretty solid VF. Is the rim smashed on the right side?

Thanks for the comments everyone. I don't know much about large cents but I saw it and I knew I had to get it.

Actually foundin rolls answered it in the previous post: "The distortion of details due to being struck on an incomplete planchet would not detract from the grade."
