The edge lettering is not entirely ending, only IGWT is being moved to a face while the motto, date, and mm stay on the edge.

Personally, I think these smooth edge lettering coins will always carry some premium above the regular correct coins, but the sheer numbers that were released (100K or more) indicate they will not be a true rarity. Since the first one was discovered and sold for more than $600 on ebay, the prices have come crashing down as it was learned that more than a handful of these got out. Now they are selling for $50 or less. I don't think the value of these errors will climb and there in fact may be continued modest downward pressure as the total numbers of these coins becomes known & graded. It may get to a point where the ungraded uncirculated pieces will ultimately settle at $10-15 and the graded ones a $30-50. Just my opinion on the near-term- maybe next 5 years. I cannot predict what will happen in the future. Maybe 15-20, 25-30 years it will start going up and become more like the 37D 3-legged Buffalo nickel (which is far more rare).
