XF details - environmental damage. Needs conservation.

The details are amazing for a copper coin buried that long. Such a shame the verdigris consumed it. Wonder if there's a safe way to remove it. It's just caked on so thick.

Found in a cow pasture. About 10 inches deep. The soil was very kind to it.

I would send to NCS for professional conservation. That would also maximize its value. You are fortunate that the environmental damage is very even.

I don't know what they could do for it. The coin is made of corroded copper. If you remove the corrosion, you remove the coin.

Given where it was found, it was probably lost not long after 1807.

Needs a very long soak in Verdi-Care or olive oil to stabilize the surface as soon as possible.
