I posted my Wheat penny photos earlier, in two separate reply posts, but put them together for easier viewing. Note: I took these photos with my phone which accounts for shadows and lack of fine detailing.

to the family! Always curious, what's the story, find it, buy it, inherit? Where'd that scratch come from (if you know). Off-centers are always neat, they're unique, one of a kind, you can always have more than just one! It a wheat to boot! (There was a commercial somewhat to that effect, oh yea, ,Lay's, "you can't eat just one!")

Hi CrazybO. My penny does have a story. I've always kept a lookout for error coins...my father taught me to since I was a mere child. In addition to my collection, I recently inherited the majority of my fathers coin collection. I wrote some of my coin story/history and it's available in my profile. I hope you read it to understand more about the coins I have now. The scratch on this penny actually looks like a capital "H" that's been stretched horizontally. It's more of a groove than a scratch. The odd thing about this groove is that it appears, nearly identical, in an 1807 US penny I have with mint errors. So, I sincerely believe it's a strike error. Thank you for your interest

Hi dtl I don't know its weight but have been ordering collecting supplies which will include a gram scale. I have a lot of coins to sort through which I inherited from my father. He has a wonderful collection and he introduced me to coin collecting at a very young age (in my profile). Happy to be here

CrazybO...just wanted to let you know that I have never, ever purchased a coin for my personal collection. I did, however, buy a Liberty Head dime once for my father's birthday. My father never purchased any coins either. My father collected coins all his life. He acquired some amazing coins during his lifetime and I'm so grateful to have these historical little pieces from around the world. They're mostly US coins. His passion was Buffalo nickels and wheat pennies...and ...you can't have just one!

Nice error but the severe scratches on the reverse really hurt the value
