I'm wondering how everyone stores their items....have you gone to "at home safes"--or have you moved on to a banks safe deposit box? How many PCGS blue slab boxes do you have (obviously if you have stabbed items) and where are you keeping them? At the bank? --I do have items in my safe deposit box--but thinkining it might be time for a larger size box....any "specialty chests that have been made for storage? .....Thanks for all of your suggestions and thoughts

My suggestion is to invest in a good quality floor safe that is fire and water resistant. It may cost you a bit for a decent sized one but you will have it for a lifetime. Also get a good desacant, either rechargable or electronic.

I would never store more than a few thousand dollars in coins in the home. You can always be compelled to open a safe. This is an old discussion and there are prior threads on it.

Thanks to all--yes, I think most of my posts are "old discussions" but I don't find searching for them to be very user friendly

The thing is that if someone who has criminal intent discovers you have a safe in your house you could be victim of home invasion to get the contents of that safe. If the person knows you, or there might be any connection to a known person that could be traced back to the invaders you and your family could end up dead. I have a gun safe cabinet with a few weapons in it. However, by the very nature of the contents I have plenty of firepower to defend the contents.

Just buy a piece of land some where and bury all your valuables in the ground. Cover with a slab of concrete or plant a tree over that area.
OR open your own bank and use a lot of safe deposite boxes.
Or leave out in the open. No one would think they are worth anything if left out.

I keep mine in this vault about 600 feet under my custom built fortress that resides in a river somewhere in eastern Montana.

No worries for me. I lost all my precious valuables in a boating accident on the Great Lakes.
