jbuck - I was able to obtain 7 of the scarce Dansco year set pages.
I also purchased several blank quarter and small dollar pages at the
same time. I thought I might store some of the more recent years, or
perhaps a selection of one year per decade to display the coin
changes over time.
I forgot (sorry Ike fans) about the 70s flirtation with large silver
dollars (I love large silver dollars

- Makes
me feel rich to have $10 in big coins in my pocket) and did not
order any Eisenhower blank pages. Sorry, out of stock at my favorite
online store.
So I hope to find a way to utilize the 7 year set pages I was lucky enough
to snag but worry about future additions.
I have now broken apart several proof sets for additions to a 20th
Century Type album. It is scary, but I love the way the Type album
looks, so I will continue. The retailer I was able to get the 7
year set pages warned against breaking proof sets apart due to a
loss of resale value. I am not assembling this collection with resale
in mind. And how much more can proof sets decline? The first set
I purchased (1987) is down below $4.00.

I now view them, and mint sets, as valuable sources of high quality
modern coins. I want to be able to enjoy and easily share my coins
with family and friends.
