Just found this 1965 penny obverse MAD and the letters "god we "are partially missing off the edge . The coin is worn but a cool coin to me

In 1969 they created a new master hub. But hub was spreading during the 1960's. When the die was showing heavy die wear, this became more evident on the coins. The last bad year for that master hub was 1968.

so you are saying this is more of a master hub wear and spreading issue rather than mad ? I do seem to find a lot of these from the 6os but this is the first with the letters sliding off

I don't think it's a MAD unless there's a lot of rim showing at the bottom. I've seen the motto nearly off the edge in a lot of 1960s cents, and didn't know why until Coop explained it.

Yes, especially on Lincolns from early 60's to 68
