As I'm going through all these pennies to create a set.I'm wondering about the 1982's. Should I put both the clad and copper P&D 1982 in my set? I'm thinking why not. Just wanted a opinion or two. Haveing hard time finding a 60P last 1 I need. Still have many more rolls to go through. If someone needs something for there collection let me know I will be more than happy to help.

Seeking: advice

I suppose you should put together a few sets of 1982s copper and zinc

I would include them. There's a massive difference between copper and zinc and between the large and small dates. I'm told the coppers are tougher in nice condition but my experience says the zincs are near impossible.

In circulation I'm pretty sure the zinc will be tougher.

The cost is nominal anyway.

Time don't fly, it bounds and leaps.

I did mean to say zinc not clad (had JFK's on my mind) cladking glad you mentioned the large and small date 82 I forgot about these. Looked in the Red Book it only shows pictures of plain. Did they mint any D or S? Now I may have to go through the huge jar of 82's to find these. And also add these.

Seeking: More 82 Info.

i have a question how do you know if it is a proof penny. for example the 1990s has a error of missing mint mark, so how you tell difference between regular and this?

There are 7 types of business strike Lincoln cents in 1982 plus one proof, for a total of eight. Being the obsessive person that I am, I have to have them all!

Proof coins come in sets purchased from the mint and it is unlikely you would find one in circulation. The proofs are made from dies which supposedly are given greater care and are polished to produce the brilliant surface on the coin.

When searching in circulation do not concern yourself with these rare proof varieites. It is next to impossible that you will find one.
