1834 Bolivia 8 Soles, Confirm Authenticity Please

The weight is good at 27 grams and it tested at 90% silver. I believe the coin to be real but am not sure whats going on with the edge? References say the edge is reeded and lettered AYACUCHO SUCRE 1824. I can see an AY distinctly and think I might be seeing some other lettering but edge looks to me like it make few trips through the reeding machine. Please share any info you on this coin it is new type to me. I like its its archaic style. realeswatcher Pillar of the Community United States 1962 Posts	Posted 02/03/2017 12:33 am Authentic, but metal was shaved off the edge... basically looks like along fully half of the edge (comprising the perimeter of the upper half of the obverse/lower half of the reverse). Looking at the reverse pic, note how the diagonals bleeding out from the edge reeding are "normal" by the area of "... ICA BOLIVIANA". Then see how around 6 o'clock (date area) and surrounding, these are missing and it's just the very border of some straight "denticles". I'm guessing the reeding was reengraved there, but they somewhat ignored the lettering that's supposed to be contained within. Report this Post to the Staff

I think I will be looking for an upgrade in the future but will be happy with this one for now:) Many I have looked at are in even tougher shape. I like the F-VF detail this one has.
